November: Art Every Day Month
Its that time of year again: November. Already?! Aside from NaNoWriMo and Movember, this month is also Art Every Day Month. Its a low pressure art challenge begun about 15 years ago by Leah Piken Kolidas at Creative Every Day as a way to inspire herself to “create some art every day for a month.” Fantastic! AEDM is also a great way to focus and make time for creativity before the busiest 6 weeks of the year slow me down.
For me, the key phrase for this challenge is “low pressure.” I’m using this challenge as a vehicle for exploration and expansion: different materials, different tools. Right now, I’m developing textures while learning what I can and cannot do with Modeling Paste. I like the spreadability, but so far, have not had good luck with the product accepting impressions. Maybe I need a different medium for this. Readers?
If AEDM sounds like it might be for you, head on over to Creative Every Day for the sign-up. Jumping in at any time during the month is cool. She has a closed FB group for those who sign up, but posting your art isn’t a necessity, just a nicety.
